Great but sad photos. I served there on & off over the last 30 years. Have many happy memories & a few im still trying to forget!!

Spent a lot of my formative years in Central! My dad was a fireman and most of our socialising was done either in the North West or Officers Club.
Great photos - bought many happy memories!
I have also signed the petition - it would make a perfect museum.
Thanks everyone!

Hi seeing thouse photo,s makes me want to do something to stop them touching this building. why cant it be kept and become part of museum . for birmingham history. I really think as brummies we should lobby against them taking what is left of special old buildings.
I can imagine the university needs the land .

WE REALLY MUST STOP THE ROT IN BRUM AND KEEP THIS AND OTHER SPECIAL BUILDINGS.

hi all...i have just looked at the list of how many have signed the petition to save the firestation...only 23 so far...we need more than this if we are to be listened to...just click on the link on the above post..every signature counts...

thanks all for signing the petition...too many of our historical buildings have been lost to the bulldozers already and if we dont make our feelings and voices heard the fire station could well go the same way:cry: just to remind you that the link for the petition is on post 96...

what a great idea and well worth supporting now all we need is all the people of Brum and Elsewhere to back it  time to approach all your local councillors via drop in centres etc me thinks:rolleyes::D

If you go back to the petition via the same link, your name should be added to the list of "signees". i haven't had any e-mail either, but my name is on the list now

I remember going with my school to the big fire station in Aston, I think it might be the one in the photo's about 1960, shame to let so much become so derelict

As I've mentioned before, I signed the petition when I saw the link in post #96. Still no email received and my name is not there. I'll try again tomorrow with my other email address.
