Bunker & Decontamination Centre Near Ashted Tunnel

Radiorails

Near the Eastside locks and portal to Ashted tunnel there stood (now demolished) a brick air raid shelter, with baffle entrance to protect from blast. Nearby there was also a decontamination building in preparation for wartime (WW2) gas attacks. These were constructed in 1939 and 1940 respectively. The photo below is that of the decontam building. The upper floor was a messroom.
Maybe someone remembers these structures or even had access to them. I know there is a city fire brigade interest here; maybe the fire service had used the building at some time in the past?
