My dad (John Orr) used to preach in the Bullring sometimes (with friends) in the 50's and 60's.
He was punched by a drunk bloke once...and he turned the other cheek for the man to punch as well (he didn't).
Strange...but I ended up speaking there on Tuesday's (with a team) in '84 when I worked with the B'ham City Mission.

NOW YOU ARE MOST ASSUREDLY AT IT.
WHAT ABOUT THAT RECENT PLAY STAGED AT BIRMINGHAM REPERTORY THEATRE: "PINCHING GERTY AT THE BULL RING"?
IT WAS POSTED AT VIRTUALBRUM AS AN ANNOUCEMENT BUT THAT WAS ALL HEARD; so-to-speak. NO REVIEWS.
IT WAS REPORTED AS A PROFILE OF LIFE THEREAT IN THE 1800s. VIGOROUS LOT THEY WERE.
SEE ROD BIRCH POSTING OF EXQUISITE PANORAMA PHOTOS THEN. (he was just a kiddo)

I'LL CHIP IN MORE WHEN I'VE SLEP ON'T 8)
