Bromsgove Electrification

Heartland

master brummie
The wires are now fully installed to the new Bromsgrove station. West Midland Trains are now training their drivers for the commencement of the service in July. There is little to see of the old station now though.

The old Bromsgrove Station was once busy place where there were wagon shops and a locomotive shed (for the banking engines). With railway rationalisation this old station was reduced to a single platform with a sparse railway service. That all changed with the improvements that created again a second platform and an overbridge and more trains called there.

The new station has four platforms and is presently served by a range of service destinations. Electrification will bring even more trains to Bromsgrove !

I have been told that some of the trains on the cross city line will now end at Bromsgrove

The service began on Sunday 29th July. From this date Cross Country trains ceased to call at Bromsgrove
