Hi,
My GGGrandmother was born in Birmingham in 1850. The youngest child and the only daughter of George Binyon c1808 and Elizabeth Milner c1811.
On the 1851 census the family are at No3 Back House Sherbourne St in the Christchurch district.
I have been unable to trace George and Elizabeth on the 1861 census and the only Emma I can find is in the workhouse.
Are there any records of reasons for entry or date of discharge available anywhere.
I have traced some of Emmas brothers who were married and stayed in the Birmingham area.

i understand my relation died in the birmingham workhouse. i have a workhouse token from there so it seems she was in there. her name and details are as follows
i have her living at summerhill street in 1881 aged 48
name maria lee/lea do not have her after this.her husbands name was edward he was down as aged 53 in 1881.
story has it she died of drink in the workhouse. it so affected her son he remained a teatotal all his life. any help please

thank you this is the family fredrick was my grandfather.
but died when my mother was 7 years old so i have little knowledge of his family.
the daughter maria lived in charlotte street in 1911 like her aunt she never married
 
Maria Lee, death registered June quarter 1894, Birmingham 6d 1. age 63.
I have looked for Maria on the 1891 census, but I can't find her.
