I guess it is the same th world over now, as every architect seems to dream up something new rather than having to follow a cohesive plan.

A colourful view of the Civic Centre and Hall of Memory. Plenty of municipal planting around the gardens. I think the road in view is Great Charles Street (pre inner Ring Road redevelopment of that area) and a glimpse of the corner with Easy Row. And of course it’s since been redeveloped again. Viv.

Opening the Hall​

The Hall of Memory was opened by H.R.H. Prince Arthur of Connaught on 4th July 1925. Built of Portland Stone, and constructed almost entirely by Birmingham craftsmen, it cost £60,000 raised solely through public donations.
