  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

When I took these photos one of the old platform buildings was still standing:-

The building was in a very poor state of repair (ie: falling down...)

Don't think it is a false memory, it was at Barnt Green that I first witnessed the passing of the token as the train went on to the Redditch branch, engine driver also took a pot of tea out to the signal man. Probably 1965ish, steam train, lecture at Redditch college. Later it became my local station with access to the cross city line.
 
I remember going through Barnt Green station in the 50's when we used to travel by train from Birmingham to Evesham to stay with my Nan for holidays.
