I attend St Albans Church in Highgate and have often wondered about this building in Coneybere St near the church and decided to check it out.

It turns out the factory is a modern example of Birmingham success - Barkley Plastics.

The History of Barkley Plastics started in 1963 when John Barkley placed an advert in the Birmingham Evening Mail that asked for four toolmakers to help start a new company in Hallam Street in Balsall Heath. BP was a success & about 1968 moved to new bigger premises in Highgate Street.

They also expanded at the back of the factory into Conybere St. With success, further premises were bought including warehousing in Emily St. Now PB are the leading company in injection moulding/tooling/assembly. Info from their website at https://barkley.co.uk/

I really like this statement on their website:

Your Plastic Injection Moulding Specialists

Relied upon to deliver your plastic moulding requirements to the highest possible quality since 1965.
Established in Birmingham, the industrial heart of the greatest manufacturing nation on the planet.
