  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

A 1927 advert, so they were there at that time.

The works was known as Globe Works (old sign on front of building). However, Globe seems a popular name in Birmingham as there were a few others in the city.

We are trying to streamline the Forum by moving threads to a more appropriate section
When they are moved they generally go into the new section with other posts around the year they were postedthey can still be found by using the search facility,
If I add an up to date post eg moved 27/09 it brings the thread right up to date.I am doing it with threads that I feel are still of interest to others on here, and this has some beautiful old photos.

Alan, just read your link…..Very informative!

The company that acquired Lander, Gil Investments a private equity group also used to own Dawes Cycles (at least I thought interesting).
