  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Here,s one that got away!

Aston Villa V ....nal Villa Park 1952.
 
I have just found these two one is entitled Saturday Afternoon at The Villa and the other one Barton Arms.
 
Hi Moma I got those two framed for my 60th Birthday.:) The Villa one is titled 'Another Victory' and is about 25"X 15" and the are just to the left of me in my study:)

That's an interesting photo of steam trams at Aston Cross, from John K Colin on #9. It shows only steam trams, but you can see the poles for overhead wires in the foreground, which means it was probably taken after the Corporation electric trams had started from Steelhouse Lane to the Aston Brook boundary on 4 January 1904, but before they ran through to Aston Cross on 16 June 1904. There appear to be no overhead poles going up Park Road towards Witton, on which company electric trams started to run on 19 September 1904, so this narrows the date down quite a bit.
