Aston Chain and Hook

Exiled Brummie
I moved around the corner from Bromford Lane to Tyburn Road in 1953 as a young boy. Our house backed onto Aston Chain and Hook. Here's a photo of the factory from the air. Tyburn Road is going across from left to right and Bromford Lane diagonally from bottom left to upper right. Our house, when built, would have been just off the photo to the left.

My grandfather worked there in the 40s & 50s (in fact I think most of his working life) He never retired & was still working when he died at 67.
They lived in Monk Road & he used to walk to work evey day & actually died in William Cook Road on his way to work in 1957.
