Ashwood Millward married my great grandmother Emma Adkins in 1886. Attached is a court record from 1885 of two cases where he was found guilty of larceny from a person and theft of 60 iron ladles from a warehouse. A second record says that he got 6 months to run concurrently at Birmingham Prison. I am assuming this is what I know as Winson Green? Can I access the prison/ police records anywhere ?

HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.

From what records there are (and from the details on your other thread) it seems likely that Ashwood abandoned your great nan and possibly changed his name or left the country.
However, as she eventually married Benjamin Crumpton I wouldn't be surprised if she may have learnt of his death (when and wherever that was) and felt safe to re-marry. Just one of those family mysteries.

Not sure if you know but the birth of Delia is registered with mmn Atkins (could well be mis-spelling of Adkins).
Assume you have found her baptism record.

Hi Janice. I have not found a baptism record but do have Emma Millward, Delia Millward b 1891 and Emma Crumpton b 1894 (visitor)on the 1911 Census at 4 Lilly Place, Cooksey Road. Tinpot

Thanks Janice. Delia’s record also puts them in 95 Arthur Street. I think Emma Millward’s brother Edward Adkins is at that address. John is new to me and gives a new address alongside Nelly Millward to research.

I have found an A Millward in The Police Gazette of 11 April 1911 listed under Army Reserve as absent or deserted on the 1st October in Coventry presumably 1910. So far I have not found a military record for this person yet. Place of enlistment Warwick and trade as stamper.

I went back to the attached 1871 census today and realised that Thomas Cundy was not included in the transcrption where Ashford /Ashwood first appeared. Went on to find the second attached transcription . I think Rebecca and Edward are the siblings of Emma Adkins, my great grandmother. Also we are back in Arthur Street.
