Alfred St, Aston

Just doing a spot of tidying out and I came across this of my Aunts.
In case you have difficulty reading the scan its the place my Aunt Eva and Uncle Tom called home for many years all through the 60's.
From there they lived the rest of their days in Grove Lane, Handsworth.
I remember the place clearly and my Aunts dog Judy..they were never blessed with children themselves so pets tended to take on that role.
As you can see the Rent was One pounds five shillings a week..was that a lot back then?..I dont really know.
But I guess it gives a pointer to what people did pay all those years ago..
It had no front garden or bathroom, no hot water either..
I do know one thing, it was full of laughter and warm memories.
