Albert, Jewellery Quarter

Hello, I wonder if anyone remembers a lovely old gentleman called Albert - he had a workshop in the Jewellery Quarter and made and repaired rings and other items of jewellery. My father had a jewellery business from 1965 to 1994, and used to take repairs to Albert every week, and I remember going with him and being so in awe of his workshop! It was like something out of a Dickens story - very dusty, with big cobwebs, arched windows that were so thick with grime it was hard to see out, and Albert would sit at a work bench with all sorts of instruments and soldering equipment. I'd love to know if anyone knows more about Albert - I just remember him being lovely.
