18th Century Publicans

I was looking through a copy of Sketchley's trade directory published in 1767 [the earliest record of trades etc. in a directory] for Deritend. And then I thought I could type up a list that would be useful for others. I don't think this is available elsewhere as a listing. I have only got up to 'F' but I am sure this short list includes many an inn sign that is new to forum members. I have typed up as is so some spellings may be different. There are some anomalies in that several names appear for the same pub.

People interested in pub history might like to know there is a Pub History Society whose members are quite active. Visit their website: pubhistorysociety.co.uk
