    Dudley Diary

Not quite Bham but may be of interest... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-62290114 ...though it didn't take much time to work out that she was Lilian Harriet Green, daughter of Albert Louis Green and Harriet Fuggle. That her father died when she was young, that she had an unnamed sister...

    Berrow / Devey Family

I did mean to type Henry Charles, originally because that is how he appears on his baptism. It could be a C but I'm not certain. I do think it's the correct family. Another sister and brother also moved to Bham and Henry is with his brother Robert in 1891.

    Paradise Development 2022

Building works are still progressing, One Centenary Way looks to be near completion (at least on the outside). I was in town last week and it was surprising how much space there is around the buildings, they look really close together from the live cameras. Planning permission has been...

    Greaves, Ruth & George

Certainly one (Ruth) and possibly both distant relatives. Marriage reg. Solihull 1896 but possibly was at Christ Church, Burntwood. Then it looks like they divorced in 1907, interesting in itself. George may have been a soldier (possibly Boer War) and then possibly emigrated to US on the...

    Your Most Exotic Ancestor

Not strictly Birmingham related I suppose but... Where did your most 'exotic' ancestor come from and why did they (if you know) or their descendants come to Birmingham? I would say mine would be a 3 x great grandfather from Holme-next-the-sea in Norfolk (not very exotic) and was probably a...

    Favourite Family History Photograph

I haven't got many but this is my favourite. It's from 1928 and is the wedding of an aunt from my grandad's first marriage. She was born in 1908 and was 28 years older than my dad. The bride is obviously my aunt, the first man sitting down on her left is my grandad, the woman at her shoulder...
