  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Has anyone got a picture of The Swan on Bell Barn Road, corner of Wynn Street, or of the area around the junction of Bell Barn Road/Wynn Street/Spring Street. Have come across someone (plus father possibly) with my unusual surname in that area, who I'm now investigating. It would be nice to see...

Pubs Of The Past

The first one is The Bell, situated on the corner of Bristol St. and Bell Barn Road in 1965. Picture No two is of Ye Old Red Lion in the Bull Ring. It was an Ansells pub and the photo is from 1955.

One of my brothers in law lived there back in the fifties but I don't know which number, his name was Billy Cox, wife Eileen, he and his wife had their first child there then after only eleven months twins, a boy and a girl.
They moved later to the Liverpool area for his work.
