  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Have this picture which is labelled next to no 58 new john st west, so this must be Lavinia Court, marked next to cutler buildings

mike i cant believe i got the location right...not like me at all lol...viv given the fact that njsw was widened on the side that cutlers buildings were i think that they would have stood partly on the duel carriageway and partly on the site now occupied by st chads school and grounds...also found these 2 references..one calls it culters buildings and the other cutlers court...

dated 1965..showing 2 children out playing....look down the entry onto njsw...can see 3 of the 5 tower blocks along njsw

Hi Lyn , your picture on post 148 looks like the double knack between Gt Russell St and Wheeler St.
Love picture on #150 showing houses between wheeler St, and was Wells St?

hi june my dad was born in new john street they were fair people
 
new john st west, there was a two way radio hire firm there, out side was a mast,with a dummy half way up. it looked very fealistic.at first i thought it was a real person. before i went to specksavers:laughing::laughing:
