Ford Meteor Garage Gloster Meteor Jet On Forecourt

Barr_Beacon

The Prodigal Brummie
Found this recently, it's dated August 1973, does anyone remember it?

Yes Barr beacon I remember it, the garage was on the junction of Wake Green Rd and Oxford Rd just up from the traffic lights on Alcester Rd and St Marys Row Moseley, just passed St Marys church
It was a Gloster Meteor F4 EE531 , hence the garage name. It was on loan from the Midland Air Museum at Coventry airport.
It is still at the museum today, its a early example of the type.
There was also for a short time a Spitfire as well as the Meteor outside the garage.
I think the Meteor was outside the garage from 1973 to about 1974 or 75.
It was possibly on display outside the old BBC Pebble Mill studios around this time as well.
Confirmation of this, and any more photos would be appreciated.
