  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

He was remembered in the General Post Office, Victoria Square with a statue by Peter Hollins. (See post #2 for image). The statue is supposed to now reside at the Aston Royal Mail Delivery Office. Is it still there I wonder ?

Although not born in Birmingham, he had strong associations. Hazelwood School in particular, having opened this school with his other family members. Roland designed and supervised the building of the school.

There is a statue of Sir Roland Hill, in Kidderminster, he was born there in 1795.

The statue was unveiled in June 1881.

Although this doesn't answer whether the Aston delivery office example is still there.
