    The car

My wife chose a Skoda Karoq for our current car. Petrol, Automatic. I switched to automatic cars a few years back & would never buy a manual box again. Automatics have come a long way in recent years & are brilliant. BMW, AUDI, MERCEDES, GOLF are often driven by selfish people who think...

If it`s as hot as the 90`s Richard then all those pots would need watering every day, a bit of a chore especially if you want to go on holiday or even for a day or two. I have a couple of fairly large padding pools which i fill with 6 inches of water & bung the pots in & they usually survive...

In the garden today, a lonesome pigeon. I think it must have been it`s partner that was ravaged by a Sparrow hawk on the village green. Pigeons pair for life, so i`m wondering if this pigeon will stay single till it dies? Where have all the finches gone?

Could be a Peony Rose or simply an Old Fashioned English Rose? I have a similar rose in my garden, lovely scent, but looking closely at the leaves it may well be a poppy !

I`ve recently had a few days at Rudyard lake near Leek. I had a Lodge with panoramic windows & i saw birds that i haven`t seen for donkeys years... Woodpecker, Jay. Coal tit & my favourite a lovely Thrush. Lots of Squirrels. Would have liked to have seen a Long tail tit. I noticed that the...

Poor thing, looks like he`s been dragged through a hedge backwards, like all birds, a dedicated parent.

It`s taken 3 years to get this blue pea to flower, not sure if it was worth it.( Lord Ansons sweetpea ) Got a garden full of newly hatched chicks of all varieties, plenty of food for all of them if the greedy starlings don`t gobble it all. Lost a pigeon to a hawk strike last week. Had some much...

    new peaky series

Sorry to be such a killjoy, but do we need more violent tv programmes? It seems there`s not enough violence in the world for some people that they can`t get enough from the news. Flame me if you want.
