    Along Lichfield Road, Aston, I couldn't fail to notice this chimney – it's been reduced in height and bears the name BROS LTD. Who were the Bros and what did they make here?

    Botanical Brew Stone Jars

    A garden in the Chester Road area yielded up a jar branded Farr & Co. / Botanical Brewers / Brantley Road / Witton. I see from the A-Z that Brantley Road is near an area of industrial estates. In the 19th century, I believe, there was industry along the River Tame.
