    Paddy would frequently come out with a number of mind boggling phrases as you were talking to him. Phrases such as auchta muckty, hum de la haa, the higher they fly the fewer.

    C.F. Resting was Danish born, a manager at F.W. Woolworth and employed variously a maid and a chauffer.

    An event after the "main week" so not on the Birmingham Heritage Week website, I am sure will be just as educational and informative - Birmingham History Fair 25th September at the Midland Arts Centre.

    In the Engineering D.O. we would have go see Wilf in the Tech centre to get advice on effluent treatment, handling and disposal. He would always be referred to as Have Gulley, Will Flow.

    The Triumph Herald parked on the double yellow lines outside the Gothic should be getting a ticket by now, plus it's MOT is well overdue, 1st May 1986
