    If the local people have not managed to save the library it closes this Saturday. I remember it being a home for children during the 60s and 70s.

    Born at 150 Grestone Avenue in 1952 lived there till i married in 1972 at Elmwood Church, lived at 54 Windermere Road, we moved to Solihull in the late 70s still here, but my heart will always be in Handsworth Wood, such a lovely area to have spent my childhood growing up in.

    Could well be jenny, as they replaced the paving slabs at the same time the roots could have been causing problems also. Still such a shame they were so pretty and reminded me of my years growing up along such a lovely Avenue.
