    yes i remember some of the shops my mother very often took us down to new town for shopinf the one thing I do rmember well was the house that jack built and woolworths :)

    i moved to 4 back of 38 cowper street when I was 4in 1953 and went to cowper st school then on to summer lane sec mod left cowper street when they redeveloped in early 60,s still think about those days and allway look at old pics from those days :)

    I lived at 4/38 cowper st does anyone remember the old nail factory being on fire and the explosion in late 50s early 60s

    I'm new member and love the old pics of cowper street I lived facing old plating factory nxt to old coal yard I remember a fire wich spread to factory and an explosion wich blew me out of bed and tyres blasted into air and down to 3 hores shoes inn I early 60,s
