    Private Railways In Birmingham

That exit rail to BR was, I believe, a gate along a footpath than runs/ran from Common Lane (when it was a cul-de-sac) to Bromford Lane.

Whateley Smith family of Kings Norton, Selly Oak

FreeBMD suggest the Marriage was in 1938 and that her Birth was 1914. There is a 'one name study' for the Whateleys and some appear in 'my lot' - but not a Barbara.

    Help identifying where in Birmingham

That was my first thought as well. As to the location, for some reason, probably the gradient, I'm wondering if it is at the end of Soho Pool Warehouse.

    The Pig Bin

I know I'm quoting from a post over a decade ago, but............on the subject of food, someone recently directed me to an 'app' called "Too Good To Go". Essentially, download the 'app', set your location and radius, and then up will/should pop details of retailers who are offering...

    Seven Stars Inn, Solihull

In the 1881 Census, (RG11; Piece: 3067; Folio: 93; Page: 9) there is Herbert M. Jackson (occ: Breeder of Thoroughbreds) and family living at Edited to add that I think this refers to Coventry rather than Solihull.

    Acocks Green

I trust she recovered. Yes. The 'scruffies' could be quite 'Brutal' in those types of situation. Woe betide any motorist that was slow in moving over as they would risk getting a gloved hand distorting the roof of their vehicle.;) Ambulance Escorts aren't done unless absolutely necessary. I...

    Stechford Road Junior School

I could well be in that photo - although I don't recognise myself. Could be bottom left, or the lad behind. And I certainly can't recall the name 'Kesterton'. Although, to be fair, even at that age, I never paid much attention. :D

Thanks. I am aware of that. Such has been blazened across the media but, if he wasn't permitted any Editorial input/oversight then the result can be far from what was intended.

Is the program any good? I know that it has had good reviews but, since the success of 24 (which I enjoyed) then it seems like every Producer/Director 'strings out' whatever story line they can find, for little/no apparent reason. Some of these programmes just make me lose interest.....

    Your oldest domestic tool

I think I've still got one of mixing bowls, or one very similar. White on the inside. I've also got an old hand operated Mincing Machine. Screw clamp to fix to a surface and then wind the handle. Some years ago, with the grandaughters, we visited the Science? Museum in London. In the display...

It may be what later became Colmore Depot - car dealership.

    Microfiche reader on offer.

I'm not sure how many people still use them but I seem to (distantly) remember people looking for one. There is currently one on offer on Freecycle, located at Badsey, Worcs, if anyone is interested. Link may work but might need to register. https://www.freecycle.org/town/EveshamUK
