Hi I am wondering if any one knows about the Union workhouse and infirmary in Dudley Road,I have had just had a pdf email from Gov uk regarding my grandfathers death,luckily this time it’s the right one after three try’s ,any way he lived at 55 Bissell Road but apparently died at 88 Dudley...
Hi it would have been before 1912,1901 census states they are both carriage wheel makers,goodness I didn’t realise there would be so many,it would probably have been the closet to were they both lived in Kings Norton.
Hi my grandparents both worked as carriage wheel makers before they were married,would anyone know where the factory for that was in Birmingham.

I think it was 2 back of 21,I know the family were very poor,my dad joined the army the day after his 17th birthday,he told me it was the only way he could get a decent set of clothes and decent meals.
Thank you Phil,I have been doing my family tree for a few years and have never been able to find any photos of the road my dad was born and grew up in,I know the houses then were very dire,my dad was born in 19007
