    Hi Phil I have just had another look at the PDF and it’s 33 Marshall street,South Aston,sub district Deriend I think I have the spelling right,it is a bit scrawley on the PDF. Thanks for your help

    Hi I am wondering if any one knows about the Union workhouse and infirmary in Dudley Road,I have had just had a pdf email from Gov uk regarding my grandfathers death,luckily this time it’s the right one after three try’s ,any way he lived at 55 Bissell Road but apparently died at 88 Dudley...

    Yes absolutely,my father used to do a 30 mile round trip on his bike every day to work,times were hard.

    Hi it would have been before 1912,1901 census states they are both carriage wheel makers,goodness I didn’t realise there would be so many,it would probably have been the closet to were they both lived in Kings Norton.

    I think it was 2 back of 21,I know the family were very poor,my dad joined the army the day after his 17th birthday,he told me it was the only way he could get a decent set of clothes and decent meals.
