My Grandmother lived at 21 Vittoria Street My father had a painting & decorating business opposite at the beginning of St Helens Passage. I lived at no 12 St Helens Passage,
My Nan's house was a back to back, i remember we had no toilets , No water, had to go to back yard to fetch a bucket, Also remember the Brew houses , which familys shared to do washing, Also steam Christmas Puds in haha.There where 3 toilets top of yard and 3 bottom, Shared by 12 houses. St Helens Passage where I lived was not Back to Back , Remember names like , Bishops, Mc Courts, Gregsons, Mountneys,Mrs Small, Mrs Snape, Mr & Mrs Prater, Frost,My Grandparents were Charly & Jenny Pugh.
