The Kings Arms were at no. 171 in directories up till 1880 edition, but street was renumbered between then and 1882 and Kings Arms then became no 246. John Cartwright is listed there in the 1867- 1884 editions, but not in the 1862 or 1888 editions. (It should be remembered that the date of directories is publication date and probably refers to years before). The position of the pub is shown on the map below in red. It remained until the late 1960s. I do not seem to have a photo of it, but some others may have one.

Thanks Mikejee. Back to the drawing board! TinpotNo 141 was the Green Man. Have looked at the directories I have up till 1932, and in those can see no John Cartwright at that address

Much to my surprise I have managed to find source again. White,Francis & Co 1849 History and General Directory etc.. Also on second look I have spotted William Cartwright maltster, Summer Lane; house, Lozells. TinpotThanks Mikejee. Back to the drawing board! Tinpot
