Is it like the one on AB Row? If so it could be Birmingham / Erdington or Birmingham / Edgbaston. If it isn't I haven't got a clue. Although thinking about it it would have been Aston / Erdington.....so back where I started.

Well, 24hrs after posting the question so I guess it is time to provide the answer. Half a point to Lady Penelope I think.

Crumbs! Half a point - that's more than I usually got at school anyway. As Lyn says, what does it stand for please?

as its on a bank wall maybe it stands for bank of england

Lady Penelope had the answer - boundary between Birmingham and Edgbaston. The line can be seen on the map. The bank was a redevelopment and the stone incorporated into the building - a bit like that A.B. Row stone.
