Brookfields Cemetery JQ improvements 2019

Contractors due to commence the improvements went offsite straight away due to the number of discarded syringes! Not sure the proposed cast iron railings will look ok but now told work will extend until December with specialists coming in to decontaminate the site!

Brianthelion, where did you get your information from? On the face of it, this does not hang together.

A significant construction project where the contractor would have visited the site on several previous occasions to measure it, tender it, draw up specifications, method statements and risk assessment. Its not as if they have never seen the site before.

The guys who turned up to begin the work earlier in the week were camped in my regular cafe moaning about the self same lack of information and preparation. They had walked off the job.

Ok thanks. Builders in cafe's are always moaning about work or something. What are the plans for this new fencing?

hi bri and thanks for the info...alas the cemetery for some years now has been well known as a drop in for drinkers and drug users and i know it has been a contant battle for the friends of key hill/warsone lane to keep it under control..such a shame...really hope the problem is sorted out asap...

Don't I know it! My regular cafe but a great source of info/gossip! Loads of possible Chinese investors being shown around the "triangle" in the JQ by a developer one day last week followed by a group of Somalian youths, one who stabbed one of the others shortly after. Never dull!

Cafe's are a great source of information, bit like the hairdresser, but more dynamic. Is this fencing job funded by the council by any chance?

Cafes work for me as hairdressers not required lol! I believe that the job is funded by Bid funding that the businesses signed up to for another 3 years. Don’t have any idea re the proposed fencing design but find it strange as can’t see anyone trying to get out of the cemetery!
