Thanks for posting these Frothy. I loved Muffin. My brother was in hospital, followed by a long spell in a convalescent home, and while he was there, he had a lot of toys bought for him, including Muffin the Mule. When he came home, I was only interested in getting my hands on Muffin.

I also had a Muffin the Mule. It had strings and everything.I had it for years, I loved to know what happened to it?

My brothers (mine!) was the same, with strings. When we moved from our flat, when I was sixteen, my teddy was left behind. I guess Muffin must have been left too. Muffin is one of the the few things that I wished we had kept. Shame.

You were all so lucky to have a 'Muffin the mule' I would have loved a puppet like that. I bet you could all kick yourselves for mis-placing them. They would be worth a fortune now I should think...that's if you could bear to part with them. It was such an age of innocence wasn't it? It reminded me of Childrens TV at 5oc till 6oc. It used to show the transmitter with BBC CHILDRENS TELEVISION going around it. Do you remember? It seemed so exciting to me, watching it on a 9" screen in black and white.

Another favourite of mine.....

When I was working at ICI in the 1950's I was asked, as part of the Affiliation of Youth Clubs to go up to London, Lime Grove, to appear on TV to represent the Birmingham branch. The programme was called Teleclub. While we were waiting, for hours and hours, tucked in a niche was Annette Mills, John Mills sister, with her puppet Muffin. She was rehearsing a piece before her programme went out. It was all live in those days and nothing was taped, so no record everything gone. I can recall the clicking noises that Muffin made as she jigged him around.

What a treat all my favourites.......Andy Pandy, Picture Book and I think we will have a full set!!!!

Thanks Mossy. I saw Jeff a couple of years back at one of Mike Sheridan's nights. And he didn't hit one bum note!

If i can make this work I thought you might like to see me and Muffin circa 1960 (I think) probably taken in either Lewis's or Rackhams at Christmas time.
