Hello I'm Thelma cheslins daughter that was her name b4 she married my dad, I have found more photos on here to show her I need to go down to her house and get the old photos out, I have an old picture of my mom and dad married at Birmingham register office in 1947! But I don't really understand this site so I don't wanna be going round posting pictures of my mom and dad

hI Susano9 i recall you and your family as my mate was johny dunkley and his family for donkey years along with billy wylman from peel stret and we invented the route 66 coffee bar and the down stairs celler we created for our use of the gang and played music down there
I remember Johnny dunkley he and my brother John hitchen were good friends also Reggie tolley always were together

right first here is a map showing 127 and 132....132 is 2 houses down from a gap...

first photo the caption says no 125 to 132 but not sure about this as the map shows 132 after gap not before it...maybe you will be able to confirm as i dont know the street and captions can be slightly out..click on photos to enlarge and hope they bring back some memories for you

second photo caption says shows nos 133 to 140

Thank you for this photo, sorry been so long looking again, 86 is where I lived with my two sisters until we moved to Cannock in 1962, best years of my life, wonderful days at top of garden just watching the trains go by

hi folks...i wonder if someone could look up no 1 aberdeen st please in the directories..apparently before the 1970s it was either a pub or off licence looking at the maps it does look a large building..many thanks

lyn

Does anyone have images of 1 Aberdeen Street? We moved there in 61 and changed the place into a Herbal Store. It was either an off licence or small pub in a previous life. Went to Summerfield school while living there, made some good friends

hi dave i have looked at all the photos on this thread and i think the closest one we have to no 1 is no 6 however as you will see on my post 84 i have asked for a directories look up to see if no 1 was a pub previously if it was and we can find out the name of it then we can look for a photo of it as a pub..fingers crossed...

lyn

Thanks Lyn, it will be good to see if anyone has anything relevant. I remember my mother telling me it had been an off licence but I remember it had a big cellar for storing barrels of beer in.

looking at the size of the building dave its more in keeping with the size of a pub..off licenses were usually smaller but we shall see...link below to my trusty map...again move the blue dot to the left to see what is there now and as you can see no 1 is quite large..lyn

Boy, has Aberdeen street changed!Think your right again re pub as I remember the cellar had large pavement opening for barrels. Off licence wouldn’t have that. Cheers Dave
yes thats what i thought dave but it could have been a large off licence lol...
