Looking for Judy Bell (Judy Badger)

I wonder if anyone knows of, or remembers, Judy Bell who married Alfie Badger and lived at 29 Sefton Road on the Edgbaston/Ladywood border. She was my sister's best friend, but, sadly, they lost touch many years ago. My sister, Pam, is now 87 and suffering from memory loss. I would love to be...

    Perrotts Folly

I was born and brought up in Harold Road, just down from both Perrott's Folly and the Waterworks. I also went to King Edward's which was Tolkien's old school (although by the time I went there in 1968 it had long since moved from New Street to Bristol Road). The received wisdom at KE was that...

    Lost places in Edgbaston

Just looked them up on Amazon. I see what you mean about the prices. I'll have a dig around on eBay to see if there are any cheaper copies out there. Thanks again, Phil. Paul

    Lost places in Edgbaston

    Lost places in Edgbaston

Thanks for the photo and the welcome Phil, much appreciated. I was a kid during the 50s & 60s living just down the road from your avatar (Perrot's Folly). Hagley Road was my stamping ground in those days - I went to school in Highfield Road. Even so, I can't seem to place the Midland Bank. I can...

    Lost places in Edgbaston

This is my first posting, so hello to everyone on the forum. Does anyone know where the Cecilia Coffee Bar was in Edgbaston? I keep seeing it mentioned in biographies of Steve Gibbons and, as an Edgbastonian by birth, I am curious to find out where it was. Also, does anyone remember Astley's Toy...
