My maternal grandparents, Samuel and Mary Ellen Price, lived at York Lodge and it was a place of huge enjoyment and very happy memories for me and my sister and brother.
My (late) brother's autobiography has a detailed description of the house, inside and out, and its grounds, together with a few photographs. He also writes movingly of our last visit, only weeks before it was demolished.
I may be able to provide a copy of the relevant pages of the autobiography if necessary to anyone who is interested (though I'm afraid it would have to be by post since I'm hardly computer literate !!)
