We have just discovered my wife's grandmothers birth certicate and it states that her father was a WHITESMITH has anyone ever heard of this ? :wink:
 
Postie a Whitesmith polished or finished the Iron, as opposed to forging it. Sometimes called a Tinsmith.
 
Yes thank you I did. I loved it, and it brought back so many memories.

Did you have something to do with it :?:
 
Your wifes Grandmother may? have worked with any of various whitish alloys, such as pewter, that contain high percentages of tin or lead.
