Oh no. What an emporium that was. I went in there many times during the seventies/eighties. Sad day.couldnt believe my eyes today....this well known ironmongers has been demolished not sure if it has moved elsewhere..it was like a time machine in there all the fittings were original...

I worked over the road from Whites , our firm was always popping in and out of there .As Lyn said in the first post, hard to believe Whites has gone without trace. Thought it would be nice to have this security shutter on record. Must have been an old shutter judging by the phone number. Viv

Yes , it was like Jackson's Garage that was opposite at one time both landmarksNot long before my Dad passed away he wanted us to take him back to the Summer Lane area where he grew up. I took a lot of photos for him and one was of Whites. How sad that it's no longer there.
