GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

The Christmas Truce at Plugstreet Wood in 1914.

The infamous Ploegseert Wood where our lads played football with their enemies on Christmas day 1914, now apparently marked with a simple wooden cross on the edge of a field to mark the place where they played. The Royal Warwickshire's are at the center of this well written book. There are also photo's of the Warwick's HQ and some of its soldiers.

The Authors also wrote Meet at Dawn, Unarmed and Stolen Lives

Happy reading, I'm saving mine to read when I collapse at Christmas.

Thanks for the info Di. Definitely one for my Christmas list. Had hoped to go to the National Archives lecture this week (11 Dec) on this very thing but now can't go due to work. So this will make up for it. Viv.
