HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now

Looking back at the New Street/High Street junction before it’s redevelopment. The building in view was about to be demolished. That too later disappeared after WW2 bombing. Viv.
Now it’s very clear why it was called the ‘Big Top’. Viv.

Never knew it was used for anything other than the circus. Can remember being taken there at the time of the photograph. Around that time the circus would also come to Heybarnes recreation ground.
The site on 2/3/1955 just before building started. Until the subway was built “a temporary road was thrown across the site” ! Viv.
