This looks like it was a classy shop. I don’t remember it at all. It was near Christchurch Passage. These are from a 1930s catalogue. Very surprised to find the building’s still there, but the ground floor has been modernised. Viv.

That's some shop, perhaps the way some of us would like to remember...

Does anyone know when they actually closed?

On one of the earlier interior photos there’s an interesting crest above the door. Shows, I think, a bird, a tree and a fish. Maybe Rowan’s roots were in hunting, shooting and fishing clothing. Viv.

Some may remember the logo. I do, but I don’t remember the shop itself. It’s the sort of shop my dad would have bought clothes from - not very often, in fact a rare occurrence preferring to buy quality clothes that lasted. So maybe we had one of these bags hanging around in the house. Viv.
