nature and love

The heat from the sun
Like warmth of your heart?
Evermore will I hear the words?
Of love you whispered.

Tears rise up in this old heart -
As if from a hidden deep well -
They rise and gather to meet the dawn
Sadly fall like raindrops in a storm

The salts of bitter tears sting my eyes. . . .
The sweet taste of your lips . . .
The scent of passion emerges,

From days gone by!

You are like those sunrays
Shining through my darkest clouds
The tears once flowing
Dry up from your everlasting warmth

But as the cold night ends
Daylight slowly appears
Sunrays travel through the sky
The rain once darkening
Evaporates into nothing

A rainbow appears in the sky
Beautiful and distracting

Can it exist without my tears?
-without your warmth and light?

The sun is up I enfold the warmth
Around our bond of years
Till we meet again –
Beyond this veil of tears!

But loves own light will shine bright
that darkness pierced shall see,
Loud enough to wake the dead
with the greatest words that be!

 I went to a young friend's funeral today. She had just turned 42 yrs old and has left behind three teenage children. Your words John so aptly echo the words spoken by her husband and children it's uncanny.

Thanx John
