and there we have it…..The Fine Art and General Insurance Company as per the window! Austin Reed moved in during 1913 and this is a 1926 image when the upper floors were “remodelled“ according to the RIBA website.

Did Austin Reed just close down or even sold?

They moved to Temple Row and more recently the company went into administration. The Temple Row site is now the Ivy Restaurant.

Not sure what it said originally but it was, at one time (proably in 2010s), the premises of Inca Metals (non-ferrous).

Looks as if it might have been written over an earlier sign

Also if you follow the wall along the road there is further writing.

Hi, I found this ghost sign on the Dudley Road. The wall is partly demolished, but some sign remains. I think it may have been previously more than one sign? It's over the road (and a short distance away) from City Hospital. Also, just for info, it overlooks the canal.
Would anyone happen to know what the full sign would have said and what it relates to.

Richard, I did give the Woodbine a go too. They were more for the professional hardnosed grown-up smoker. When I started work, the older guys soon converted me to Park Drive plain

Could be WHO. WAREHOUSE as in 'wholesale'.
