Frederick Benbow

Hello Everyone

My Great grandfather 'Frederick Benbow' was born in Wolverhampton or Birmingham (depending on the cenus record) in approx 1852.https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/74611695/person/40301537253/facts

Does anyone know anything that could shed light on Fredericks parents, I only know his father was named Charles.

Have you looked on gro for his birth reg which should give mmn? (Unless he was illegitimate).

There doesn't appear to be any registration that fits under Benbow or another name with mmn Benbow.

There is a Benbow family living in Wolverhampton on the 1851 census and there are 2 daughters around 20.

It does seem to have all the hallmarks of a brick wall unfortunately.

I couldn't find a birth either. Wondered if it could be a military birth overseas? Otherwise no proof Father actually called Charles.

Father is listed as Charles on his marriage but we know you can't always take that at face value.
