Dutton history...

The 1911 census for "Joseph" and Elizabeth lists his occupation as dairy farmer - one son is Herbert E J. This ties in with both Joseph and the Herbert edward James.
His death appears to be registered as Joseph
The 1911 census for James and Mary Ann lists his occupation as cabinet maker and one son as Herbert (no other initials).

On the 1921 census James Hall is still listed as a cabinet maker and there are just too many things wrong for this family to be correct even if there wasn't an alternative.

As mentioned previously Joseph and his sons are living at 35 Elkington St. Herbert is listed as Edward and his occupation (and a brother) is listed as Motor Driver, matching his occupation on marriage.

This may be relevant and I'll post it now, otherwise I'll forget it...
