Coal Barges at Lodge Road, Hockley

When I was a kid we used to go " up the cut" on a Saturday to help the coal man. People would buy a barrow of coal off the barge and pay 3d deposit on the barrow, we would push it to their house and tip it, take the barrow back and get the 3d for our efforts.
Anyone else remember the coal barges, the canal access was near the Ford Motor offices and British Oxygen any photo's?
