Catholic Children's Homes

Does anybody know of a Catholic Children's home run by Nunns in the early 1920s somewhere in the Longbridge or Rednal area. A gentleman I met at Oxford FHS fair last week is enquiring as his mother was sent to such a home with her two sisters.

Re: Catholic childrens homes

there was a childrens home called Narareth house by the entrance to the longbridge plant at the beginning of rednal, right next to st colombas school. its knocked down now and houses built on it, Regards Pete

Hello...does anyone have any information about Maryvale ? It was an orphanage and a school in Kingstanding, Birmingham.
I was a pupil there as a very young child, but I do not have any memories of my time there. I would greatly appreciate any information people may have about life at Maryvale in the 1950's. Regards and best wishes, Martin
