I have run into a brick wall for James Cartwright born abt. 1771. According to the 1841 Census, James was living on Bank St. in Birmingham. I think there is a N next to his name in the 1841 Census, so he may have been born outside of Warwickshire. James married Maria (Taylor) Bartholomew 16 November, 1822, St. Martin, Birmingham. He died in Birmingham in 1847. I am trying to find a baptism/birth record but have no idea where to go from here.

Jackie , there are very many James Cartwrights around that year in records, but I have traced most of them to 1851 census
2 strays are James born 1869 Seighford Staffs parents James and Mary
James born 1771 Macclesfield Cheshire, parents Ralph and Mary.
Perhaps the marriage entry in St Martins register would have fathers name,
