Barr Beacon

Visited today, all the roof covering is in place, Zinc green to match the old roof, some of the scaffolding to be removed soon, the Flag pole to be reinstated in it`s original position, between the Memorial and the tree`s, the white fabric in the pics on the Zinc roof is only a temporary protection. then visited Great Barr Hall.

My father had something to do with a building on Barr Beacon many years ago,he had his own building business.

derek might be next door connected with water

I'm not sure what building work my father was involved with,I was too young to remember but my eldest brother happened to mention it some years ago...it would'nt surprise me if it was a statue or some other monument,he knew all about that sort of work,he was also a pargiter by trade.

It is starting to look good will have to pay a visit next time I go to my brothers. Thanks for the update Dave.

Might have worked on this Memorial at some time

Pics from the 13th April Saturday, the base of the dome is home to a few camera`s all the way round.

great photo's dave, so good to see it back in all its glory, to the local men and women who perished for our peace, but I am surprised they re-roofed with copper again, as I am sure it will be stolen again, a sad reflection of our present society. you might think that they would use a synthetic material which looked like copper!!. paul.
