    Rookery House, Erdington

A bit of a long shot here but does anyone recall the 'Peacock' statue (cast iron) I believe, it used to be somewhere by one of the sets of steps outside of the sunken formal garden?

    Tamworth Road Kingsbury Road

I would like to add that the picture of the old Birches Green House (taken from my bedroom window) belonged to the Darlington family, they owned the large wood mill adjacent to it and you can still (amazingly) find the family burial vault in the graveyard at St Barnabas Church. The years between...

    Tamworth Road Kingsbury Road

I have seen a photo from the same photographer taken of the entrance to Rookery Park. The location if my memory serves me correctly as Kingsbury Rd/Tamworth Rd. I fancy that Kingsbury Rd terminated at Spring Lane where it became Tamworth Rd.

    St Barnabas Church Erdington

    New library.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head with that comment Mike... Perhaps they are keeping their options open... if it fails as a library just turn it into another Mosque!!

They Were Caught In Our Old Street Pics...

It looks to me like the 'A3' is attached to the downpipe on the building... a group of people on the 'zebra' crossing in front of the standing bus, also the patiently waiting scooter rider (is that a Vespa) and of course... look at that smart E-Type

    Dunlop

Dunlop continued Tyre Manufacture throughout WW11.. a relatively small amount of Spitfire manufacture (I believe steering gear) took place on the Dunlop Site. The vast majority of Spitfire manufacture was 'next door' at what is now the Jaguar Plant.

    St Barnabas Church Erdington

Well I think it is a b****y eyesore now and key hill brian is quite right... It is obvious the Vicar has little or no interest in the feelings of those whose relatives are buried in the grounds of the Church... lot's of talk talk but no action. Lots of War Dead memorials in the Church yard (some...
