How Aston Villa won, and lost the FA cup in the same year.

Thank you very much for your condolences lyn and Vivienne. I am trying my best to carry on but believe you me it is so very, very hard, but carry on I must as it is what Jim wanted me to do.

At the match at Villa Park on Saturday, after 20mins 17 seconds there was a tribute to the Supporters who had been sadly lost during the year.

RIP Holte Ender in the Sky.

Aston Villa was fined £25 for losing the cup whilst it was in their care A smaller replacement was made by a former player Harry Vaughton in his silversmith business costing £20. . The newer one lasted until 1910 when it was decided to change it due to Manchester United making a replica as they realised the FA did not own the copyright. The 1911 cup was valued on the Antique Roadshow of over £1M which had been made by Fattorinis of Bradford. (It would be nice to think that Fattorinis in the JQ had some input though).

Trautman was obviously a very unlucky goal keeper. He managed to break his neck whilst Playing for Manchester City in their defeat of Birmingham City in an FA Cup Final,in, I believe 1956.
